Compilation The European aggregate is calculated for reference periods achieving a country coverage rate of 60% or above; the shares are based on the 2010 national population data (ESA2010 definition). The aggregate is the sum of available national data, grossed up in each period in order to reach 100% coverage. This rescaling avoids that major changes in the aggregates are caused by changes in the underlying country coverage.
