Privacy Statement
The
European Central Bank (ECB) and the Statistical Data Warehouse
(SDW) are committed to user privacy. It only processes your
personal data for the purposes described below; it does not
divulge them for marketing purposes.
All
personal data will be processed in accordance with the EU Data
Protection Law. The ECB is the controller in the processing of
the personal data collected while visiting the SDW. You consent
to the processing by providing the personal data that is
requested.
You
can withdraw your consent at any time via the Statistical
Information Request form with subject “SDW personal
data” or by contacting the ECB’s Data
Protection Officer (DPO) at dpo@ecb.europa.eu. Future
processing of your personal information will stop once you have
withdrawn your consent, but processing prior will remain lawful.
Information Collection

recorded by the SDW's servers
The
recipients of your personal data will mainly be the SDW
administrators and staff of Directorate General Statistics.
Log information - servers automatically record
information that your browser sends whenever you visit SDW
websites. These server logs may include information such as the
date and time of your visit, your Internet Protocol address, the
domain name, the type of browser and operating system used (if
provided by the browser), the URL of the referring page (if
provided by the browser), the object requested and the completion
status of the request. The information the SDW collects is only
used to compile statistics, on an aggregated basis, on the usage
of this site. None of this information is reviewed at an
individual level, nor associated with any other personal
information.
SDW Log-in - registration on SDW websites is
optional. If you choose not to register or actively provide
personal information, you can still use SDW websites.
More
information (e-mail and encrypted password) is collected and
stored through SDW login for advanced features, such as creating
and managing your own personalised PDF publications ("My
Publications") and your own data selection ("My Data Groups").
Furthermore, your SDW news subscription preferences will be
retained in case you subscribe to SDW news.
Cookies - cookies are small bits of data sent by
a website server to the browser on your computer. The browser
tells the server when you next visit that particular website.
Cookies help storing the user preferences.
Information recorded by third party servers
Please
note that the SDW is not responsible for the privacy policies or
content on third-party websites. You are therefore encouraged to
review their privacy policies, when visiting these websites.
Google Analytics - this website makes use of
Google Analytics, an external service, to obtain statistics about
the usage of the website. Log information collected by the
SDW’s servers is also sent to servers operated by Google,
and is used to provide the SDW with aggregated statistics about
the number of browser visits, usage patterns, and searches
performed on this website.
Google
has its own privacy policy. Google self-certifies compliance with
the EU-U.S. Privacy
Shield framework that the U.S. Department of Commerce developed
in consultation with the European Commission in order to meet the
European ‘adequacy’ standard for privacy protection.

may refuse the use of Google Analytics cookies by downloading and
installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
Statistical Information Request - you can
contact SDW via the Statistical
Information Request form with subject “SDW personal
data”, where your personal information is required in order
for us to provide the services you request.
Use
of Collected Information
We will keep your data for a minimum period of two years,
depending upon the user activity. Please be aware that we will
delete your SDW account, associated baskets and SDW news
subscription preferences after 2 years of inactivity without
further notice. You have the right to delete your data baskets
("My Publications" and "My Data Groups") or unsubscribe SDW news
at any time.
If you sign up to SDW news, SDW will use your e-mail, stored upon
the user registration to trigger e-mail notifications.
Data

You
have the right to restrict processing and to access, rectify and
(with some exceptions) erase stored data relating to your person.
You
can exercise your rights by contacting DG-S via the Statistical
Information Request form with subject “SDW personal
data”. If you have any further questions, you can contact
the ECB’s Data Protection Officer (DPO) at dpo@ecb.europa.eu.
Furthermore,
you have the right to have recourse at any time to the European
Data Protection Supervisor regarding the processing of your
personal data.
